What are the steps & procedure to perform Proactive and Reactive monitoring best practice of VMware VCSA (Linux Appliance) 6.0 ?

I had this question after viewing Backup and Restore VCenter Linux Appliance methods and scenario best practice ?.

Hi All,

Since VMware forcing us to migrate from Windows VCenter server into the cryptic and hard to manage Linux appliance, I wonder what sort of Proactive and Reactive steps that you implement daily or monthly to ensure that the Vcenter can work normally without any issue ?

Normally, VeeamONE or any other Windows & SQL Server DB monitoring tool is able to send email alert to me when the server having problem or reaching certain amount of threshold.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks Andrew,

So what about the Database maintenance method and best practice ?
I can manage SQL Server and extending Windows server vHDD with no issue, but not sure how to do it in Linux.

Or Does the VCSA is intelligently enough to expand the disk size by itself or deleting old unused data to prevent disk space filling up ?
