Dashlane password manager suddenly won't accept my master password

I've used Dashlane password manager for years with no problems. Suddenly this afternoon when I enter my master password for Dashlane, it says it isn't the correct password. I know it is. I've used it a dozen times a day. All of my devices that are synced with Dashlane have the same problem. I'm doomed unless someone has a solution. Thanks.

I do not know anything about Dashlane.

Triple check that Caps Lock, Num Lock, laptop number board lock and Scroll lock are not set incorrectly or ON.
Arrrgh!  I did not read completely. Did you somehow change your master password when Caps Lock or Num Loxk was on?

No it's an ordeal to change the master password for dashlane so I haven't attempted to change it in several years. The problem just appeared out of the blue yesterday afternoon.
It would appear then that the database may have corrupted on one machine and then that spread. Of, you got a virus on one machine that damaged the database and it spread.
I don't know. Dashlane support says there is no way to recover the password since it is encrypted on every machine and not stored anywhere else. I was just hoping and wishing that someone had encountered the same problem with dashlane. I've read online where other folks have had the sames problem happen at some point. I think I'm doomed.
I think probably yes.  Arrhg! above comes from Peanuts in similar situations. I think the database was damaged.
I was able to access dashland on my macbook that the application was open and I hadn't logged out. I tried to change the master password using the macbook but it asks for the original password and naturally the original password doesn't work there either - to backup or export either one. I guess as long as I never close the app on my macbook and carry it everywhere I go I'll be ok.
Arrhg to the Nth degree for sure.

Yeah I've been copying like crazy for the past hour. Unfortunately there is over 400 of them left to copy. My ulcers are about to bleed me out I think. Thanks John. I'll leave the question open just in case someone has encountered the problem and if a solution was ever found.
That is about the only solution left now (copying the passwords).

Pw databases need to be backed up!
I backed them up at least once a week but the backups can only be restored using the original Dashlane password that encrypted it. The program not accepting the password that I know to be correct was the problem.
No solution was available except to copy over 400 password and secure notes manually and putting them into another password manager. Lots of work but at least I have access to my passwords again.

Thanks everyone for their help.
First. thank you and I was happy to help.

Second, good news that you could get your passwords back. I do understand your concerns and feeling of doom. I keep solid records of my own passwords for just such a reason.

Thanks again.
The password is for the pw database, not for the program itself, so backups should be accessible. Just try it for fun.
At least keepass works that way.
Hello Bob!

This is Simon from Dashlane's Support team.

I am sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing today - this is definitely not something we expect our users to go through!
I am reading here that you have already been in touch with our team - could you please provide me with your last support ticket number, so that I can pull up your exchanges and get back to you via email? I would very much like to help you get to the bottom of this issue!

Something that would also help us greatly is knowing whether you are able to access your Dashlane account from our Web-app, available here: https://www.dashlane.com/app/en/

Thank you so much, Bob! I look forward to hearing from you!

Have a great Wednesday.
Problem solved. My son had changed the password and didn't tell me. Everything is good now. Thanks.
Fine. But be aware that your backup should have worked with the password it had when it was backed up, right Simon? So logically, this is the normal disaster recovery.
Thanks a lot for the update, Bob! Glad to hear that everything is fine for you now.

@McKnife This is correct - if you backup your Dashlane data by exporting with our "Dashlane secure archive" format, you will be prompted to enter your Master Password which will be used to cipher the data. Therefore, this is also the Master Password that you will need to provide whenever attempting to import this file into your Dashlane account, no matter if you have since then changed your Master Password to something else.
