You'll probably find out in March of 2017 from the surveys, however, those are all popularity contests since nobody seems to post actual repair rates and failure rates.  Macbooks are actually the most popular, consistently, in the past 7 years.  It's not likely to have dropped.

Dell is in 2nd place, followed by ASUS.  Lenovo is actually in 4th place last time.

Any of the top brands with business class laptops should be pretty close to the same level in terms of quality.  The consumer models of many of those brands do have a lower build quality and fail more frequently than their business models.  Apple only sells pro-consumer models, so all their models compete with the business class models.

Lenovo is not always in first place but the ThinkPad is a top quality machine.
That may be, but there are many companies with top quality machines.  My point is that nobody has published their failure rates, nor have they published their Dead on arrival(DOA) rates, so there's no real comparison of quality.  It's all just a popularity contest, based on user surveys.  My point with that, is that the top few laptops are likely within the same quality, but you can't know without the additional repair data and equipment failure data.

I understand that you do love Thinkpads, hence your actual user account name, but don't be biased.  I do also frequently recommend Lenovo's Thinkpad line, but it's only one of many higher quality products out there, not the only one.  It all depends on the individual reviews of specific models and specific user needs.
I am not biased. I have ThinkPads that last as long as 10 year without major issue. So I base my thoughts on actual experience, not popularity, claim, or bias. Just usage over a quarter of a century.
I have Thinkpads T series, Dell Latitudes, and Macbooks that have lasted over 10 years and I still run one of them 24/7 as a low energy lightweight server and rotate it out when they're older.  I also have 15 year old Toshiba laptop that still works, back when Toshiba was still a top laptop manufacturer.  So quality isn't limited to just Thinkpads.
