2012 r2 branch office DNS
Going to be adding a branch office to a 2012 r2 domain, it will have 2 domain controllers, site to site VPN with pfsence on a 25/5 connection to start then eventually a 25/25 connection
Do I add the branch on the current domain or a sub domain? I'm planing on doing it as the same domain unless convinced not to.
On the current domain, DC servers the primary DNS setting is the other DC, and secondary DNS is the loopback , I haven't had any replication issues. On the branch side I'm guessing I would do the same for that particular sub-net but just have the actual DNS replication happen between the to main servers on each side.? Obviously clients at the branch will get DHCP and DNS from the local DC's .
Does anyone see any issues with just extending the domain.?
