schema master
I am creating a disaster recovery plan for our Active Directory environment. We have multiple sites and each site has domain controllers.
We have FSMO, schema master holder server (SRV1-DC) at site A . If SRV1-DC1 fail , can I promote other DC from another site as FSMO, schema master?
Or Do I have to restore SRV-DC from my backup?. Any help or advise is very much appreciated.

If I have a good backup of the DC, Can I just restore it if that server fails/corrupted AD?
or do I have to restore it directory restore mode?
or do I have to restore it directory restore mode?
