Outlook 2016: The message store has reached its maximum size.

I am using outlook 2016 and my PST file size in 1.81 GB.  Often i am getting following message:
The message store has reached its maximum size.
But i heard outlook PST has maximum file size upto 20GB. I do archive every two days.
Why i am getting this message? How to fix it?

What kind of email are you using? Exchange, IMAP, POP3, Office 365?

Is your .pst in unicode or is it ansi? You can check by going to File>Account Settings>Account Settings...>Data Files, and double click on the pst file. If it says Personal Folders File or Outlook Data File then you are unicode and should by default be able to go up to 20 gbs. If it says Personal folders file (97-2002) or Outlook data file (97-2002) then your pst is in ANSI and can't exceed 2 gbs.
It is ansi . Is it possible to change to unicode?
