I have been asked to look for an EDI solution or something else that will help us retrieve invoices from about 50 partners automatically. We will need to have the software be an on prem solution (preferable) that can be set to retrieve invoices from partners FTP sites and send an email to our finance department alerting them that a new invoice is available. We also need audit trail capabilities on this. <br />

The File Transfer Program (FTP) is a standard network protocol used to transfer computer files between a client and server on a computer network. Built on a client-server model architecture, it separates control and data connections between the client and the server. Users may access the server through a sign-in protocol, typically in the form of a username and password.

HTTPS is a protocol for secure communication over a computer network which is widely used on the Internet. Software is any set of instructions that directs a computer to perform specific tasks or operations. Computer software consists of programs, libraries and related non-executable data (such as documentation). Computer software is non-tangible, contrasted with computer hardware, which is the physical component of computers. Software written in a machine language is known as "machine code". However, in practice, software is usually written in high-level programming languages than machine language. High-level languages are translated into machine language using a compiler or interpreter or a combination of the two.
