Any way to enable hot add for memory on a VM while it's turned on?
I have a VM on but need to add memory. Hot Add for memory isn't enabled on it (I guess it wasn't in the VM template).
Is there a way I can enable it to come on the next time it reboots?
Or is the only way to enable it to shut it down, edit settings, then turn on/add mem?
I am on vSphere / ESXi 5.5

Looks like the script works, but as you already know, you will still need to power off and power on your virtual machine to the change take effect.

Does a VM reboot work from within Windows? Or you have to actually shutdown the VM from the VM console level?

I understand the VM will have to be powered off and on, but it could mean less downtime if I'm able to take care of putting place the setting to take effect before having to power it off.
