Outlook keeps asking for credentials, and then does not except.
Hello Experts, I have exchange 2010 in my environment, with outlook 2010. We have a few users who's outlook keeps on asking for credentials, and then does not except. I've varified that their AD accounts are not locked, and its been over a week since they've changed their passwords. Is their anything else i can check. How can i resolve this. Please advise, and thanks in advance.

Please try the following
- Close Outlook
- Goto %AppData%\Local\Microsoft\
Credential s - Rename the folder name as a SID, for example S-1-5-21-917267712-1342860
078-179215 1419-1253 to S-1-5-21-917267712-1342860 078-179215 1419-1253. bak - Restart
- Open Outlook
I delete the windows credentials first as making a new profile is a pain, reboot, test.
5 minutes is a pain? Not generally for me.
It is a pain for me as the settings all need to be setup again and for some of my clients, it can be an hour of work. I don't have managed services, I work with the general public on a by the hour basis.
The suggestion was to re-create the Outlook profile as a starter (5 minutes). This will normally fix it.
If the easy fixes (credentials amongst them) do not work, only then try a new Windows Profile. That step was last, not first.

Recreating Outlook profile may take 5 minutes but that does not include the time to sync (my mailbox is 7Gb of 50Gb) or the time it takes for user to recreate views etc.
That is true about re-syncing ( which is watching paint dry) but for this issue I find Outlook profile issues to be a common issue. Such is my experience.
All Lisa is saying is that she recommends doing the credential deletion ID: 419728927 first because it is quicker than ID: 4197270315 deleting Outlook profile.
She is not saying that credential deletion will work, only suggesting the order.
