needing a scanner with automatic document feeder which supports 2 sided pages

Hello and Good Afternoon Everyone,

I am needing a scanner with an automatic document feeder for home use which supports 2 sided pages.  While I believe this is standard, I would need each page (front and back) scanned and saved as a PDF.  However, scanners with automatically document feeders may not support what I have in mind.

Any shared thoughts and links given in reply to this question will be deeply appreciated.

         Thank you

         George

Hello and Good Afternoon Joe,

I am sorry for not being more specific with my needs.  Basically, I am needing to take a stack of essays (25 double sided essays, about 6 to 8 pages in length for each one), scan them, and save them in PDF format.  I was not sure if I would need to send the top sides of each paper through an automatic document feeder for scanning and flip them over and send them through an automatic document feeder to scan the back sides for each of the 25 essays.

I hope I explained my needs clear enough.  If you should need further clarification, please feel free to let me know.  I do not always explain things very well.

          Thank you

Hello Joe,

Thank you so very much breaking down my options when looking for a scanner with an automatic document feeder.  By definition of what you provided, I prefer to have a scanner with a duplex automatic document feeder.  This scanner will be small scale with respect to usage.  For instance, I will be scanning 25 essays (6 to 8 pages) at the most each week.  It will never exceed 25 essays a week.  The average will probably come out to 10 to 15 essays per week.  With respect to budget, I would like to get a scanner with a duplex automatic document feeder within the price range of $100 to $200.  Seeing that it is going to be used at home on a regular small scale basis, I will not need a real expensive one.

In closing, thank you for being so thorough in addressing this question.  That always means a lot to me :-)  If you should need further information, please feel free to let me know and I will get right back with you.

           Thanks again.

Hi Joe,

I am assuming each of these scanners will come with their own software packages which can be installed onto my laptop.  I will be needing software to scan and save each essay as a PDF.

          Thanks

Hello and Good Evening Joe,

Thank you so much for addressing my question.  As always, you went that extra mile to help insure that I get exactly what I am looking for with respect to interest and need.  I would like to add that your feedback was found to be enlightening based upon your careful distinction given between simplex and duplex automatic document feeders for scanners.  With that said, thank you for making what would otherwise be a complex task an easy one for me.

             Great job!!!
