Computer loose connectivity to SBS2011 same time daily
Hi,
I have SBS2011 as a virtual machine in W2012 hyper-V server. For about two weeks, the computers on the network loose connectivity to SBS2011 somewhere between 5pm and 5:10pm lately consistently (I see 'x' on mapped drives) and when I checked the event viewer, I see a bunch of errors related to Exchange Server beginning from 5pm with
(1) "The block level Backup engine service has successfully started" followed by
(2) "Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Failed resolving account spsearch with status 1376. Check connection to domain controller and VssAccessControl registry key" and
(3) "No DNS servers could be retrieved from network adapter 00000000-0000-0000-0000-00 0000000000 . Check if the computer is connected to a network and Get-NetworkConnectionInfo returns any results."
After about 5:10pm, the connection gets restored.
First I don't understand why I am getting "Backup" error when my Windows Server backup is scheduled to run at 9PM.
When I open Task Scheduler, I see two jobs (Database one copy alert and shadow copy schedule) that appears to have been created automatically by SBS. Do I need to run these? What are these?
Thanks.

If you disable The Block Level Backup Engine service than your network disconnection issue will resolved but since you are using Windows Backup service The Block Level Backup Engine service is required and can not be Disable.
Try to remove the WSB (Windows server backup) feature from the server and reinstalling after restarting if that resolves your network disconnection issue.

Can you please post a COMPLETE ipconfig /all from both the server and a workstation?

@Viral
It seems Shadow Copy in Scheduled Task runs at the top of every hour and I have a couple of questions:
(1) Why is it running every hour when the server backup is scheduled at 9pm?
(2) When I checked events logged at each hour, I do not see a lot of exchange errors except 5PM. On the screenshot, it shows "Backup" event at 3PM and 4PM, but no errors. Something must be triggering these errors at 5PM.

I realized that I set up virtual machine backup in my HyperV server at 5pm daily. I just changed it to 1:30am. I will be able to tell whether this has been the cause of the problem. I almost sure that this was the problem. I will report back sometime next week.
That very well could be your problem.

Update: I have not had lost network connection since I moved the backup time from 5PM to 1AM in Hyper-V server.
So obviously Shadow Copy in Scheduled Task that runs at the top of every hour created this problem/freeze with the backup job scheduled in Hyper-V. With that I have a question:
What does Shadow Copy in Scheduled Task run every hour? Is it necessary?

I have not enabled nor disabled. What does shadow copy do? What is it for?

@david, that is good to know. So if I delete a file from a network folder, I can recover the file?
I know when I delete a file from the server, the deleted file does not go to Trash Can.
How can I recover the deleted file?

Thinking about the problem that you describe, are you running out of space on the defined virtual disk, or partition/volume?
