Hard Reset iPhone
Hi,
I gave my old iPhone to a friend. I forgot to wipe / hard reset it before giving it to him, and he is trying to do it now, however it is looking for my Apple password to reset it.
Is there any other way to hard reset it, without having to give my password, or can i do it remotely? Thank you in advance for your help.

"How do I remove the original owner's iCloud credentials? That statement is mostly true. If you read the rest of the article it offers solutions to your problem or what others face when they buy an iPhone from a person and the credentials are still on the iPhone.
Unfortunately, the short answer is: YOU CANNOT."
The fact that you know this person and still can talk with them, I believe the steps I provided should work.
Are you sure, device is online and in network ?

Didn't work. It's still asking for my Apple password.
How can I get him to activate it so I can access online.
Any other ideas are greatly appreciated.

I provided this link in an earlier comment, and Tom's comment should have worked as well.

forgot to wipe / hard reset it before giving it to himFollow the steps in the section "If the device isn't erased"
If the device has iOS 10, make sure that the previous owner signs out of iCloud before erasing the device.
If the device has iOS 9 or earlier, ask the previous owner to completely erase the device by going to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. They'll need to enter their Apple ID and password.
If the previous owner (you) isn't present, (have him) connect the device to a Wi-Fi or cellular network and then contact the previous owner and ask them to follow these steps to remove the device from their account.
From the Find My iPhone app on another device:
Sign in with their Apple ID.
Select the device that they want to remove from their account.
Tap Actions > Erase iPhone > Erase iPhone.
Enter their Apple ID password > Erase.
Click Remove from Account.
or
From iCloud.com:
Go to iCloud.com/#find on another device and sign in with their Apple ID.
Click All Devices at the top of the screen.
Select the device that you want to remove from iCloud.
Click Erase iPhone.
After your device has been erased, click Remove from Account.
After the previous owner erases and removes the device from their account, turn off the device and then turn it back on to begin the setup process.

Thanks guys. Would it just be easier if i changed my Apple account password and gave that to him, and then reset it again?
I won't be speaking to my friend until later today, so I will try all of the above too.
