Access denied running PowerPivot -SQL Server 2014 on Windows Server 2012
We have an issue were users cannot run PowerPivot to connect to a SQL Server , our OLD Server ran Windows server 2003 with SQL Server 2005 with no issues , we then upgraded to a new server running MS Windows Server 2012 and SQL Server 2014 and this is when the problem arose
The User can log on locally to the new SQL Server and run PowerPivot with no issues , when they try and run PowerPivot from a domain PC the connection fails , I have tested other accounts and have received the same results , even with the Firewall switched off on the SQL Server , seems like a block going over the network ?
Any help Greatly Appreciated

The error says that cannot found the database and table. Did you double check if it isn't trying to connect to the old server where the database has been removed?

Hi Vitor Montalvão
We downed the old server and renamed the new server to the old server name so no real change there ,
Thanks

Does the service account has proper access on the DB and the SP/View/Table you are executing?
wcait, I'm talking about the client machines. Were they properly changed to access the new version of the database?

Hi Pawan
The SA account has access and an AD Group has access to the particular view , as mentioned I can log the user on locally to the server and run powerpivot with no issues , my problem kicks in when I am trying from a domain PC
Vitor
I ran a test
Test 1 -opened Excel on a Domain PC and created a new connection using "Use SQL Server Authentication" - tests and Connects perfectly
Test 2 - opened Excel on a Domain PC and created a new connection using "Windows Authentication" - Connection fails - see attached screenshot
Thanks Guys
