Create virtual machine from Windows 2000 Server
Hi All
I have a client with the antiquated accounting system Sage MAS 500 running on Sql Server 2000, run on Windows server 2000 which they use only for archive lookup purposes now since they moved their accounting to Quickbooks recently. The desktop client that accesses this system runs on XP.
Since there is trove of accounting and business information that couldn't be converted to Quickbooks, the MS Server 2000/MAS 500 system has been kept alive and queried for historical client/job information from the XP client.
I have visualized the XP client to allow the business users to access the old accounting system from within the virtual machine.
I would like to also virtualize the Server 2000/MAS 500, SQL Server 2000 system so we can loose all of the antiquated accounting system hardware and just run the VMs for these archive lookups.
I've never virtualized Server 2000, and wondering the best way to do this to allow this plan to be accomplished.
Ideas, suggestions and guidance for this effort would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks All.

Use VMware vCenter Converter to convert the physical machines to virtual
Here is the download link: https://my.vmware.com/en/web/vmware/evalcenter?p=converter
It's free to try but you need to make an account if you don't already have one
Also see vmware EE expert Andrew Hancock's profile. Lots of info there. https://www.experts-exchange.com/members/hanccocka.html

Make an ISO: http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=381
Then load it into an Oracle VirtualBox--or VM or whatever virtualization you're familiar with.
