Monitor Resolution

I have an nvidia quadro k2000 video card running in a Dell windows 10 workstation.
I installed an LG 34UM58 monitor, which supports and recommends a 2560x1080 resolution, but
for some strange reason, my computer will not go any higher than 1920x180.
I installed the monitor driver, the video card has it's driver installed, I've restarted the PC, and I can't figure out why
the resolution is not reaching the max 2560x1080?
I am using a DP port adapter to HDMI cable, as I don't have a straight cable that is DP to HDMI.
My video card only has DP and DVI and the monitor is only HDMI.
I just bought a DP to HDMI cable, but won't be arriving until next week.

Any suggestions to make this work?

i figured it out, since I was using an adapter along the cable, that was not passing the max resolution along.
I used a DVI to HDMI cable, and i'm getting the max resolution.  The only thing is that I've lost some real estate, but the split screen feature is very nice.
