How to have Windows 7 Dell automatically start in the morning after a shut down.
User has noticed that when his Windows 7 Dell Optiplex 7020 it turned on in the morning, it takes a hour until it comes up to speed.
What's the best way to determine what's working during this time?
Is there some sort of device that could automatically turn the computer on an hour before he gets to work? We don't want to use the Task Manager to schedule an early morning task, because from what I see, he would have to put the computer to sleep instead of powering off. I don't like hibernation or sleep.
Thanks.

generally speaking there are ONLY two ways to make it happen. one is BIOS setting for automatic power-on and power-off, the other is Wake over LAN option under NIC settings in BIOS. again, both are BIOS settings, please check them in BIOS mode.
My computers (mine / clients) have BIOS settings for wake on LAN, but not a setting for turn on at a time. That probably depends on what make of computer you have. Better to fix it so it starts.
