Issue with using GPO to install Mimecast in Outlook.
I am having an issue with installing Mimecast outlook add-on with GPO's.
When I added the install file into the GPO i made sure I pathed all the way to the MSI file and also to make sure it wasn't blocked by any permissions.
After I restarted my computer I pulled an rsop.msc report it shows that it grabbed the GPO, but did not install the file.
Deployment setting I have set to "Assigned" for Deployment type and for deployment options I have "Auto-install this application by file extension activation" and I also tried " install this application at logon".
Any recommendation are welcome.

The policy is applying so we know the AD site is right permissions wise.
I presume that you have other apps installing through GPO to computers from this share, i.e. both share and ntfs permissions including the computer account e.g. Domain Computers group or authenticated users then for starters?
Install this application at logon would be for a user based install so presumably a previous try.
Is there anything showing in the local event viewer for the machine relating to the startup time, would normally be events showing the installation was tried, possibly with "path not found" or "access denied" or other clues.
I can't run a test on this app until I am back on a site I need to use it on next week probably, not impossible it just doesn't play with a GPO install.

This is the first software we are rolling out software through GPO.
The install file that is being used in this GPO is in a public folder not blocked by any permissions.
I have checked the server event log and also the user event log, I have not seen any kind of error.

Did you get anywhere with this then? I haven't needed to push out Mimecast client MSI in the end so haven't tried it yet myself.

Have you allocated that to the computer or user?
