Exchange 2010, Implementing On-Prem Archiving

We are currently getting ready to setup On-Prem Archiving. The current Exchange setup is 2MBX servers which are part of a DAG, and a CAS server.   We want to add 2 new servers for an Archiving DB.  The question is, can we;

A.) just add the archive DB to the existing MBX servers in the same DAG(create a new db on the existing servers)
B.) introduce the new servers to the existing DAG and create the Archive DB on the new servers only.
C.) Create a brand new DAG and add the Archive Servers to the new DAG.

Thanks

If your current server have enough resources you can add Archive DB's or option 1 in your case. However, I am not sure why MS created this Archive DB concept. As user cannot view them using handheld devices and 99% users now a days using handheld devices for emails. Better you keep them in current DB's and add new normal db's , if needed.

According to me Archive Db's are waste of time and effort for admins. Keeping data in normal db's is best way. As this reduce extra admin work also user can view all data. Why I am saying, I end up moving back 5K account data back to mbx db for one my client, as they want to see all data in a mailbox.

Thanks Hendrik, Solution B seems like the way to go.
