Syntax for specifying number of digits more than one in same sentence
Hey everyone,
Forgive the obtuse title. I'm trying to explain to users that they need to enter a code that can be 8 or 10 digits. Is the following correct?
"Enter the 8- or 10-digit activation code."
Is the hyphen after the number 8 correct?
Thanks,
Steve

As to the eight vs. 8 dilemma, you and I think alike! You are entirely correct that, normally, it would be "eight". However, i reasoned that "8" would be processed more easily. :)
