i just installed it. how to scan a picture using my printer and irfanview?
also not sure how to connect that printer uisng wifi as well. please advise
In Irfanview, if you go to File > Select Scan/TWAIN Source does it list your scanner? If it doesn't, then the TWAIN drivers were not installed. Run the CD Setup program and install them.

not sure how to connect that printer uisng wifi
Are you using USB at present? For WiFi setup, the easiest way should be to run the Setup program from the CD and select Wireless LAN Connection rather than USB Connection. Also, have a look at
http://community.usa.canon.com/t5/Wireless-Networking/PIXMA-MG2922I-can-t-connect-wirelessly-don-t-know-how-to-pair-to/td-p/134708

In case you don't have the CD, go to http://canon.com/ijsetup . To find the correct printer you need to specify your location.

If you do not have the setup card for your printer either, you can find it here

i se that. but when i click that nothing happens
It sounds as if you do not have the TWAIN driver installed (although Irfanview should tell you that there are no TWAIN devices available).

Go back to the CD and run the SETUP program. There should be a selection to install scanning drivers. Irfanview supports both TWAIN and WIA scanners. It is possible that the CD does not have scan drivers for Win10. In that case go to the link I gave in my last post ( http://canon.com/ijsetup ) and download the setup program from there. (How old is the printer? I hope Win10 drivers are available.)

I have faced this issue so  If you have any antivirus or firewall software on your computer, then to resolve the scanner  you must temporarily disable them and then attempt to scan again, as sometimes these programs can block the scanning process of the printer and if you are using a wireless printer, you need to ensure that the IJ Network Scanner Selector is running on your computer.  you can also visit Canon Tech Support
