Blackberry 10 and move to Android devices
For our mobile device management/ corporate owned device solution we are currently using BES 10/ BB10 devices. These work well, especially with email since the 'always synced' functionality for mail is great and this is what the execs want.
I understand that BB10 devices are now End of Life and Blackberry are looking at Android OS. I'm not clear who will actually make the devices, will these still be branded Blackberry?
Secondly, how will this this OS change affect the benefits we had of Blackberry OS, such as the email sync and compressed data?

I switched from Blackberry Bold to Samsung Galaxy S7 a few days ago. The data transfer is quiet easy with the app called MobileTrans. It can move all sorts of data from one device to another. Here is the tutorial: http://www.androidphonesoft.com/resources/transfer-contacts-from-blackberry-to-android.html

This question is not about data migration from Blackberry to Android and your info will not help.

Hi Jackie
email sync and compressed data depends on monthly subscription fees paid to Blackberry for access to BES servers hosted by Blackberry around the world.
To add some context - the reason that BB devices were so good at mail sync was that BlackBerry controlled the OS and allowed the mail app to run constantly...therefore the mail was always up to date.
Should we expect the same level of service with the move to Android?

No. Android is in basic, a consumer device supported by Google. Unless you subscribe to Blackberry UEM or Google Apps for Work, you will not have comparable service level like what Blackberry did in the past.

TO be clear, these are Android OS devices (with a BlackBerry branding) managed by BES/UEM
Yes. But you still need a subscription to use it.
