Patch panel

Hi,

We are rewiring our office with cat6e.  I have a few questions,

1. do people still use patch panel? (it has been a while, I do not know if there are better technology now)

2. Is a Cat6 patch panel compatible with Cat6e cable?  thanks

Yes, Patch panels, whether in a rack or wall mounted, are very common. If you're really out of the loop, 110 blocks have largely replaced 66 blocks, especially in new installations.

CAT 6e is not an EIA/TIA standard, did you mean 6a perhaps?  If so 6A cable is thicker than CAT6.  I know that they sell 6A-specific connectors and patch panels, so I believe that they are different and would not fit in a CAT6 panel due to size.  Not 100% sure on that part though
