my niece installed an app from a dmg file should i be worried? how to find out it is not harmful?

while i was away, my niece installed an app from a dmg file.  it is an app that can be found in app store but this is not how she installed it, she installed it from a forum website probably a cracked version. i deleted the app, but i am still worried, if the app would be harmful to my machine in terms of hacking, monitoring or stealing my data or password etc.  although, i have had ESET Cyber Security running, it did not stop my niece from installing the app , the app is called hyperdock.  i have changed all my password, but i am not sure whether i should continue use my mac. i am so mad at her. :(

please advise what should i do?  how to find out whether or not this software did any damage or by deleting the application is my mac safe?

please help.

Do you have the link to the website she downloaded it from? I would not be too worried MACs are pretty secure. If it was a Windows machine I would be worried. I am pretty she downloaded a cracked version of the software. Send me the link I will check if the site is malicious or not.

I just checked the site, it did not come up as malicious. I would still do a scan on your machine just to be safe.

Gerwin,
thanks. I am such a naive person, yes she knew my Mac login password. I changed it now.
thank you very much Edward.

I also did a full scan of my machine. I got no malicious act alert.

I will just hope that it is wiped for good and I would not be hacked.

thanks again
