In Acrobat X, Is there a way to reverse the redaction process on a .PDF?
Once a .PDF is redacted using Adobe Acrobat X, can it be "un-redacted"?

If you are working with a native PDF created in Adobe Acrobat Pro, then you must "lock" it down before publishing. Simply go to Document >> Options>> security settings. Pick which options you want to use, i.e. "Don't allow copying", or editing, place a document password, etc..,.. You might want to digitally sign it as well. I am not 100% sure about the path to get to the security tools, but I am working from memory. Hope this helps...

Thank you all very much for your feedback. This was right along the lines of what I was thinking in that if someone simply "blacked out" the info they did not want presented in the .PDF instead of properly redacting it, then it would be possible to remove the "black box" or annotation. I appreciate y'all!
You're welcome, Mike — happy to help. Please remember to close the question properly. Regards, Joe

I am not sure why my answer was wrong, but glad you got help.
Mike,
I urge you strongly to re-open this question and select Captain's post as a Solution (you re-open a question by clicking the three dots under your question and then the Request Attention link). His post was, in fact, the answer to your question, which used the formal term "redacted". It is certainly fine to keep the two posts that you selected, but adding Captain's is the right thing to do. It is not so much the issue of points as it is the issue of fairness. Thanks, Joe

You're welcome, Mike. And thanks to you for going through the effort to re-open it and re-close it properly — much appreciated! Regards, Joe
Many thanks for the co-accept :o)
Well- deserved, Captain!
If you did started filling the form and you want to revert changes ? You can simply delete whatever you put into the field.
There is one exception. If form was designed that can't be empty, since you put anything then you can't clear this field.
