Outlook 2010 & 2016 User Profiles and moving to Office 365

We are in the process of piloting Office 365 and doing extensive test right now. All desktops are imaged via SCCM which includes Office that is install with a MSP file and setups up a profile for all users that was used for our On-Prem setup. The problem I have noticed is since we are still in a hybrid setup for now user can access their new Office 365 mailbox from their existing profile but their profile still have reference / connections back to our On-Prem server. We are a large organization and having users rebuild their profiles will be "to traumatic for them" ( no comment). I am looking for way to update their existing profiles in place so they do not loss thei custom views, signature setup etc.. I tried using a prf files not did not have much luck modifying an existing profile and have read PRF files many not be able to work with Exchange ONline

Normally outlook profile remains as is, only user is notified to restart outlook once and that's all, the benefit of hybrid migration
because post migration on premise mailbox user became mail enabled user (MEU) and he got redirected to O365 mailbox via autodiscover
no need to download all mails again, existing OST would sufficient

The problem is our existing OUtlook profiles still show the mailbox display name of our old Exchanger and confirm via Outlook Connection status there is an active connection back to the on-prem exchange server which goes back to my question on how to update an existing outlook profile
I do see the custom14.prf file present but this only applies to new user profiles not existing ones...
I think I am getting close with creating the new PRF file to edit the current outlook profile. The problem is I do not know the setting to add to the PRF to all Anonymous authentication and from searches online I am not the only one.
where is your autodiscover pointed?
Autodiscover must be point to on premise exchange CAS server URL
for migrated mailbox, autodiscover redirect users to there O365 mailbox and OST remains as IS

U need to ensure that you can reach to O365 autodiscover end points from your network and it is not blocked

U can find O365 autodiscover end point in O365 admin portal domain settings

if you try to logon to on premise OWA for migrated user, is it correctly telling that OWA url is changed now because your mailbox is migrated to O365
The problem is when I look at the setting for Outlook on my account I see my email address but when I go to Connection Status I see one connection back to my on-prem server. Also my OST filea and the name of my maibox in Outlook on the left hand side of the screen near the top still list my old address
if you delete existing outlook profile and create new profile, is it able to configure O365 mailbox?

if not it is autodiscover issue as stated in earlier comment
new profile works perfectly. The problem is I cannot create a new profile, we have 10K users and you have custom signature, views and etc and need to maintain these
If new profiles working correctly, then autodiscover is working as expected

Can you check outlook for any missing patches to work with O365

U might check from O365 portal "Install software" setting if any patch is missing
No this is not a patch issue, the existing profile contains a reference to our on-prem server and need to get ride of it.

I need to either create a PRF file that handles anonymous authentication, ZeroConfig or some way to get this to work

Autodiscover and everything is working correctly . The problem is I am trying to overwrite the user exising profile with the new settings so they do not loose all of their customizations
