is it safe to leave a micro SD card inside the slot when shutting down Windows 8.1?

Hello and Good Evening Everyone,

I am wondering if it is safe to simply leave the micro SD card inside the slot when shutting down Windows 8.1.

        Thank you

Hello and Good Afternoon Everyone,

Thank you for your excellent feedback.   I have been leaving my Micro SD card in the slot and without problems.  At the moment, I am figuring out all of the ways of using its storage potential.   It is a slow process, but, it is coming together.

You're welcome, George. Btw, did you ever hear back from the Visual Land folks on whether the MicroSD card reader in that tablet supports SDHC or SDXC? Cheers, Joe

Hi Joe,

I am still awaiting a response from them regarding this concern.  My hope is that I can use higher storage capacity MicroSD cards which go beyond 32GB.  As soon as I hear something, I will get back with you on this.  The one I currently have in it is a 32GB Samsung MicroSDHC card ordered from Amazon.   I did see a link for a 64GB one from a previously closed post.  However, I never followed up on this option because I believe you did mention that the SDHC cards only go up to 32GB.  I believe you was writing Amazon about this link.  But, I am not sure about the status of this inquiry.   If you should hear anything, please feel free to let me know because I would love to order the Micro SDHC 64GB if it will be compatible with the tablet's slot or reader.

Thanks Joe for your help :-)

Hi George,

I have not received a response that I consider to be reliable. You may view the Amazon Q&A thread here:
https://www.amazon.com/really-microsdhc-microsdxc-these-around/forum/Fx2GW0WU31DRHUM/Tx12P2DKVUS0WPR

I believe strongly that this is not a 64GB SDHC card. If it really is 64GB, I believe that it is SDXC.

My opinion is not to buy the one on which I posted the question above. I suggest the Samsung ones, available at the same link as your 32GB SDHC:
https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Select-Memory-MB-ME64DA-AM/dp/B01DOB6Y5Q

Note that the 64GB card there is a MicroSDXC (for $20) and the 128GB card there is also a MicroSDXC (for $40) — both are good values! But, of course, you should not purchase one of those until you hear back from Visual Land saying that the card reader on your tablet is SDXC. Regards, Joe
