Test the speeds on my PC Drives
Is there a tool I can use to test the write to speed on my PC's Drives?
I have a C drive of course, and 3 attached NAS 1-2TB Drives.
The purpose behind this is that there are times when I am creating large videos on Adobe Premiere or CyberLink Video Editor and I would like to make use of the fastest "write to drive."
If that is the correct terminology.

When using those programs you mention above, you need processing speed and a whole lot of memory to increase the speed at which it writes and not necessarily the speed of the drive.

I have 32gb ram and a I7 quad processor
That is very odd that you're having slow write speed, did you scan for virus like activities, your system is more than capable

I did not say I was having slow write speeds
I was saying that I want to measure the write speeds
I was saying that I want to measure the write speeds
look up the write speed of each model on the net
then you'll know on which one to write
then you'll know on which one to write

That's what I was told by our IT Manager as well.

sorry to say, but that's not an answer to your Q : "Is there a tool I can use to test the write to speed on my PC's Drives?""
" sorry to say, but that's not an answer to your Q : "Is there a tool I can use to test the write to speed on my PC's Drives?"" " ==> Sure it is, if you READ the question and note the goal he wants to achieve.
MANY discussions move towards an answer that's not specifically for the title of the question ... i.e. in this case the goal was "... The purpose behind this is ... I would like to make use of the fastest "write to drive." "
... and while there were a couple of good tools suggested that would indeed let him measure the specific speeds of his attached drives, clearly his goal would be best met by using an SSD.

hey Gary; you know it's not personal, and i also agree that an SSD is the best investment for any pc nowadays
only wanted to point out that the responders to the Original Q deserve something at least also !

... although CrystalDiskMark (suggested above) is a reasonable alternative [ http://crystalmark.info/software/CrystalDiskMark/index-e.html ]
I prefer the detailed graphics that HDTune displays during the testing, but either will provide the data you're looking for.
