SharePoint 2010 - Getting old versions of documents when copying when copying a document to desktop from explorer view
I have noticed that when I navigate to Library > Open with explorer > make a copy of a document to my desktop, when I open it the document is an old version from months earlier.
If I open the document via the normal SharePoint view or even open it directly from the explorer view I get the correct and most up to date version of the document.
Why by copying a document do I end up with an older version?
I have confirmed with a colleague on a different computer this also affects him
I know this is not normal practice but if someone wants a copy of a document being a bit old school I do like working with explorer still.

I was not able to find where the documents are in a draft version but this did point me in the right direction. There were some 200mb of versions for a 6mb document over a couple of years so I have cleared this down which resolved the issue. I will look into this more as we do not really need this level of versioning for many of our documents and the SharePoint storage must be growing excessively.
