how to configure linux OS using Ubuntu

i need detailed information on ow to install linux OS using Ubuntu in laptop.

1. Download Ubuntu iSO from there website
2.Burn the iso image to a DVD I think the image is over 900mb
3.Insert Ubuntu DVD you just burn into the cd-rom
4.Make sure your bios is set to boot from removable or Cd-rom
5.Boot up the computer, when you see the message press any key to start boot process, press any key on the keyboard and you will here the drive spin up.
6. Follow the unscreen prompts choose your language of choice and city.
7.Let Ubuntu handle the partition so let them stay at the default settings unless you know what you're doing. You didn't say you wanted dual boot so its ok, to backup your file and overwrite the drive with Ubuntu
8.Enjoy Ubuntu

@nattygreg - Not much in essence but this question is already answered by the manufacturer's (excellent) installation description. So there's no need to post an abstract of what's already on the manufacturer's site.
