asked on
script to run a program on a windows share drive every 10 mins
Dear experts,
I just tried to use task scheduler to run a program from a shared drive but unfortunately task scheduler does not allow me run .exe from a mapped network drive.
Please can you provide a .bat script I can schedule in task scheduler on my local machine to run an .exe on a shared network location.
If the script can provide an error message popup if it fails that would be great also.
The reason I need the script is because were having an issue on our network where random users keep losing access to network shares for about 5 mins and then access comes back again. We have been instructed to wireshark capture the data from a pc that has the issue but I can just keep on clicking my shared drives to see if I have access so wanted to get a script that will access the shared location that I can schedule to run every 10 mins and pop up a message if the network location cannot be reached so I can quickly capture data while im trying to access the remote machine.
