Internet Connection -- PING testing ?
I have two locations connected via a site-to-site PUBLIC VPN tunnel since each site has a different ISP, therefore if either ISP is having issues, but VPN tunnel has issues
If I run a timeless ping from site #1 to a server on site #2 it always works, but if I run a timeless ping from site #1 to 8.8.8.8 it seems to fail about 15% of the time during the last few weeks
When I asked my managed firewall provider why the above happens, they checked the firewall usage stats and see that CPU/memory/etc are NOT maxed out, therefore 8.8.8.8 should always works since a timeless ping from site #1 to a server on site #2 always works --> also my internal switches seem to be fine since they are letting the site-to-site VPN work 100% of the time
1. What other site do you recommend I ping instead of 8.8.8.8 ?
2. Why do you think 8.8.8.8 fails about 15% of the time now ?
