"Recent" shortcut button missing in Windows 10
Hello,
Where is the "Recent" shortcut button in Windows 10 File Explorer?
I just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 in which I surmise that what used to be called Windows Explorer is now called File Explorer. In any event, I am really missing the clickable item called "Recent" which would display the last dozen or so folders you accessed. It was previously found in the "Quick Access" area at the top of Windows Explorer but now it is missing.
Is there an option or setting somewhere to put that back in or did Microsoft opt (for who knows what reason) to nerf that handy shortcut?
Thanks

You can go to recent folder via Run. Type Recent and hit enter.
Can you try going in to File Explorer, going to the "View" tab at the top, use the drop down arrow under "options", to the right, and select "change folder and search options"
You should then see a few tick boxes stating:-
- "show recently used files in Quick Access"
- "show frequently used folders in Quick Access"
Apply and OK - you may have to close file explorer and reopen but you should see everything to need then. Hope this helps.
