SharePoint 2013; PowerPivot; Data Refresh on external sources not working

Fresh install of SP2013 Enterprise w/ Sp1 on Server 2012 R2 with SQL 2012 with BI.
The install of SQL/SharePoint went fine with no errors.
PowerPivot install and config processed with no errors.

However, when the user loaded a PP file in the SP, we are getting a couple errors.

1. The file loads in the browser without issue, but if you click on any of the fields in the spreadsheet to change/update data we get this error:
"We cannot locate a server to load the workbook Data Model."

2. If we try to select 'Data->Refresh All Connection' we get this error:
"We cannot locate a server to load the workbook Data Model. We were unable to refresh one or more data connections in this workbook. The following connections failed to refresh: ThisWorkbookDataModel"

In CA, I have checked the Excel Services application and the Data Model settings are pointed to the SQL server that I have the PowerPivot analysis instance installed. Syntax is: SERVER-NAME\PowerPivot

The data the spreadsheet is referencing resides on a different SQL server in the same network. I have turned off the firewall on both servers. The service accounts I used during the SharePoint/SQL setups all have rights to the databases/SQL instances.

Not sure what I am missing.
Also, this is my first SP deployment.
