I have an rdl file for SQL Reporting Services (SSRS) 2014 that I need to open and edit. &nbsp;I have used SSRS for versions 2005 - 2012.<br />

But, when I open the &quot;Visual Studio Tools&quot; or whatever to try to edit the rdl file, I do not see the Graphical User Interface (GUI) to edit the report. &nbsp;I simply see &quot;code&quot;.<br />

How do I open the GUI?<br />

Also, in the Visual Studio Tools for this rdl file, the database that the rdl file is pointing to SQL's master database. &nbsp;It's not pointing to the &quot;real&quot; database. &nbsp;Why is that, and how do I point it to the correct database?<br />

Hello:

Learning SQL Reporting Services 2014

SQL (Structured Query Language) is designed to be used in conjunction with relational database products as of a means of working with sets of data. SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is a server-based report generation software system from Microsoft. It can prepare and deliver a variety of interactive and printed reports and is administered via a web interface or its web service. Its web services interface also supports the development of custom reporting applications. Finally, SSRS can also be integrated with SharePoint. SSRS competes with other business intelligence tools, most prominently Crystal Reports.
