Java Restore security prompts not working
Recently updated java on a user, and that user cannot even verify from the official java page. They are using IE11. Here are things I've tried.
Reset IE
Disable enable in browser both from the java cpanel and IE.
Uninstalled, cleared the Prorams x86 and user/appdata of all sun/java folders, then reinstalled.
Cleared java temp files from cpanel.
Restored prompts.
If I log in and do it it works fine, so I'm certain it has something to do with this user profile. Also if I choose run as different user from IE it works. It doesn't error out when I visit the verify java page, it just says java not detected. It doesn't even try to load the applet, no errors saying enable or allow. Java version 8 121.

Did you reset Java security settings as local admin? If not I would try that. Another thing you can try is add the site under security tab in the Java control panel. You can also try going to internet options and disable protected mode temporarily.

Yep, I've reset the prompts and it prompts me for admin credentials. I've also launched cpanel as admin. Heck even tried making her a local admin, with no luck.

It really has to be something with her user profile since using the run as works. Just can't figure out what since I've reset everything in IE including the security stuff. Guess I could blow away her profile, but that is a bit of a PITA
I would uninstall java. Go to the user profile and remove all folders that are still existing for Java. Reboot and reinstall java. See how that works for you. Makes sure you remove all version of Java.
Of course if you want you can always login as admin and rename the user profile and then have them logon again. That would resolve it. It's up to you, but if you want to do a bit more troubleshooting I would try what I said above.

I tried that, what folders would you recommend.
I removed C:\programs files (x86)\Java (double checked for the 64bit version too)
And anything under C:\users\usera\Appdata\ that contained a Sun subfolder.
Any other places it might hide?

Yes that is it. Maybe it is some registry entry??? I'm completely baffled on this I have dozens of other user that a clear cache and restore prompts works, just this one profile.
Any thoughts or tools for clearing all the registry stuff?

I would use the instructions from the Java website. Please make a restore point or backup of the registry before proceeding.

I saw that but those are all other versions as well as under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, since this is a user issue I don't think the problem lies there. Guess I'm out of options other than to rename and use a new user profile. I'll leave this open for a bit to see if any others have ideas we missed.
