DNS issues after a power outage
Running a SBS 2011 (It's doing DNS and DHCP) also have a Server 2012 STD running a database with SQL
using two Cisco LAN switches, the second switch is connected to the first through one of the ports
after the power went out for a 1/2 day servers crashed before they shutdown gently
I booted both servers, everything seems to work fine
the main server and most of the PCs are on switch 1
the second server 2012 is on the second switch along with a handful of PCs
After this blackout
everyone on the first switch can get to the second server and internet except for the users on the second switch, they are getting DNS errors and cannot get to the main server or internet. They can ping the firewall but cannot ping the main server or go to the internet

nslookup is a good DNS isolation tool. Wireshark is a good tool to actually see the traffic. Gotta figure out where the hang-up is and those are the tools of the trade.
