Error with a code discussed on this page

Good evening,
I read the dialog between your expert OMGang and the author of the  procedure "Public Sub Draft_Message()" which seemed to me almost exactly what I need in order to send mails with an attachment to a series of persons. I made some editing to adapt the code to my needs but I get always the same error message: "The connection to the server failed" (I translate approximately from French). I tried with smtpserverport 25 and 461 but the result is the same. It's an issue I encountered with many other attempts to adapt a code found on the Internet (about 15 test !). Does it come from my system or from a mistake in my editing the code ?
Many thanks in advance
Best regards
Pierre

You should reply in the thread where you found the discussion rather than creating a new question.

Hi Martin Liss,
Please note that English is not my mothertongue.
I'm sorry but as far as the existing thread got an approved solution it seems that it's no longer possible to post a comment. I tried but I got the notice  (approx): If you experince a similar issue please ask a similar question (or something like that). What shoud I do now ? And what do you mean with "So he doesn't get charged". Who is "he" ? I thought the Expert Exchange services were free.
Thank you in advance for explanations.
Best regards
Pierre
OK, I didn't know that it was closed and so you couldn't comment. So here is what you can do. Ask a new question with about the same text as what you posted above, but starting with something like

Good evening,

The "this thread" link is created by clicking the "chain" icon, entering the URL of the place you want it to jump to, and then the text for the link, which in this case was "this thread".

It's also important to choose the right topic(s) when you create the thread and Classic Visual Basic is probably not one of them, since it is a stand-alone language that's not used in Office,
