How to enable specific Cisco Gigabit Switch port to operate with certain VLAN only ?
Hi All,
I'm asking this as a server engineer who knows how to connect to the Cisco switch using its management IP through Putty.
Can anyone please share some example steps on how to modify certain Cisco switch port so that it can communicate using the existing VLAN ?
Note:
Cisco Catalyst 3850 48 ports (dual stack)
There are some VLAN that my current server is currently operating:
VLAN 2 - Data Center Production - Internal
VLAN 3,4,8 and 12 - Data Center Production - Workstation VLAN
I just need to enable the ports:
GigabitSwitch 1 Ports 12 - VLAN 2 [LACP]
GigabitSwitch 2 Ports 12 - VLAN 2 [LACP]
GigabitSwitch 1 Ports 17 up to 22 - 3,4,8 and 12
GigabitSwitch 2 Ports 17 up to 22 - 3,4,8 and 12
I can only find the root password I just need the steps to configure it. The port above is already connected with the network cable from the servers but it is still not pingable, I guess I need to enable it somehow.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the explanation.
Is there any outage required or needed when reconfiguring the Switch port using the Cisco IOS command above ?
