M.2 drives

I have done 3 laptops and had issues with all 3 loading a second M.2 drive. I was able to get 2 to find the second drive. I have dealt with Lenovo and they have no clue from what they say. I actually had a tech from CDW tell me the  drive combination to load 2 M.2 drives were PCIe  or sata drives. The part number I have to make this work is 4XB0K59917. I have updated the bios, tried this combination and still not working. Does anyone know the correct drives (M.2) and I need both drive models to add 2 5012 gig M.2 drives to a P50 laptop. This just does not make sense. I copy what they say in adding the drives and no go? If someone has added 2 M.2 drives in a P50 laptop from Lenovo, please help me with what you used and the part number. I also have been told this is just not for Lenovo but any company when trying to use both M.2 drives in the 2 slots on a P50 or any that work.

Are you using PCIe M.2s?   I believe at least one of the slots only supports PCIe units -- according to what I've read the other one supports either SATA or PCIe drives.     I'd just use PCIe drives in both slots -- according to several posts I've seen, the Samsung NVME units work just fine (e.g. a 950Pro).

I have ordered the drives and will put them in when they get here hopefully next week. This is exactly what I needed to know. The part number. There is so much confusion out here on these drives and I have heard others have also had issues. Seems like maybe the testing never took place, or at least real testing.

Just so you know. Thanks first of all. I used the part numbers I got from you and they both worked. One was a 2.5 and 1 a M.2 and both are now seen. It showed up instantly. Great help. maybe Lenovo should hire you. I also have been reading where this has not been a good move. seems I am not the only one to have issues? Thanks again for the great help. Users should pay attention to this post and save themselves a lot of trouble.
