Nokia Lumina 520 problem

I have just downloaded Nokia PC suite version 7.1.180.94 with the intention of acquiring the phone numbers and names from my Nokia Lumina 520.
However, when I run the installation program Nokia_PC_Suite_eng_us_web.exe, I get an error message :
Your phone is in file transfer mode and cannot be used with PC suite. Quit file transfer mode from the phone if you want to use the phone with PC suite.

So how do I  Quit file transfer mode  ??

There are no obvious options in the settings section.

I found this on the Microsoft support site....

Select Menu> Connect. > Data cbl.. Select what the USB data cable connection is used for: Media player, PC Suite, or Data transfer. To have the device ask the purpose of the connection each time the cable is connected, select Ask on connection.
For Data transfer and Media player connections the phone is in the offline mode, and no incoming or outgoing calls are possible.
After transferring data, ensure that it is safe to unplug the USB data cable from the PC.

I forgot to mention that I am using Windows 7 Professional. I don't understand what you mean by the Select Menu ?  Where is this Menu ?Is it part of windows ? Can you forward me the link to the Microsoft site to which you refer ?

Thanks,

Roger
It was not well written, it says to select "Menu", I did not write it, I just copied and pasted.
Not much help. It is not clear where the Select Menu > connect is to be found.
I see what you mean the Microsoft site is not really clear where the menu button is, but do you have a Windows icon on the bottom of the phone? looks like 4 squares?
It turns out that Nokia Lumina doesn't work with the latest Nokia suite.

I manually typed in the phone contact details into my new phone and therefore the original question is no longer important.
