How to simulate latency?
Hi,
I am looking into WAN connections. Even though bandwidth is something that I can easily evaluate and size, I am afraid of latency and it's effect on the user experience.
Since these lines are expensive: Is there a way to simulare latency to test this before we order these expensive lines?
Thanks,
Ralph

Exactly. You will probably use lag and throttle. Only use drop it you expect this to happen

Can you explain the pheonomena behind throttle? What exactly would I be simulating there?
Throttle will simulate line speed. You will need to play around with its value though because it doesn't translate directly to kbps etc.
