I have had no problem setting up replication until about 3 weeks ago. Something changed and i can't figure out what. When i attempt to enable replication on a new VM i get a dialog box &quot;Enabling replication failed. Hyper-V failed to enable replication.&quot; with no other info. Both the primary and secondary VM host machines are enabled as Replica servers.<br />

I use all of the defaults when enabling replication. (i.e kerberos port 80 authentication). this problem has to do with the error that i'm getting on the replication server that goes something like this: The user doesn't &nbsp;have login rights. I did a gpupdate /force and the enable replication worked. but for some reason after an hour or so I have to do the gpupdate again. It must be something in the default GPO on our domain controller since that is the only GPO applied to the Hyper-V computer OU.<br />

Why does Hype-V Initial Replication Fail?

Virtualization is the act of creating a virtual (rather than actual) version of something, including (but not limited to) a virtual computer hardware platform, operating system (OS), storage device, or computer network resources. Windows Server 2012 is the server version of Windows 8 and the successor to Windows Server 2008 R2. Windows Server 2012 is the first version of Windows Server to have no support for Itanium-based computers since Windows NT 4.0. Hyper-V is a native hypervisor; it can create virtual machines on x86-64 systems and supersedes Windows Virtual PC as the hardware virtualization component of the client editions of Windows NT. A server computer running Hyper-V can be configured to expose individual virtual machines to one or more networks. Hyper-V Server supports remote access via Remote Desktop Connection. Administration and configuration of the host OS and the guest virtual machines is generally done over the network.
