hp 5500 transfer kit
I'm curious as to how critical it is to replace a transfer kit for a HP5500. Is this something that has to be done immediately? Or is it something that can wait?

If the Transfer kit is replaced before the count reaches to 0 or not at the end of life, calibration of the printer will be necessary and you will need to reset the transfer unit count through the control panel.
To reset the transfer unit count:
Press (Select) to enter the MENUS.
Press (Down Arrow) to highlight CONFIGURE DEVICE.
Press (Select) to select CONFIGURE DEVICE.
Press (Down Arrow) to highlight RESETS.
Press (Select) to select RESETS.
Press (Down Arrow) to highlight RESET SUPPLIES.
Press (Select) to select RESET SUPPLIES.
Press (Down Arrow) to highlight NEW TRANSFER KIT.
Press (Select) to select NEW TRANSFER KIT.
Press (Down Arrow) to highlight YES.
Press (Select) to reset the transfer unit count.
Calibrate the printer.Use the following procedure to calibrate the printer after replacing the ETB (Electrostatic Transfer Belt.)
Press (Select) to enter the MENUS.
Press (Down Arrow) to highlight CONFIGURE DEVICE.
Press (Select) to select CONFIGURE DEVICE.
Press (Down Arrow) to highlight PRINT QUALITY.
Press (Select) to select PRINT QUALITY.
Press (Down Arrow) to highlight CALIBRATE NOW.
Press (Select) to select CALIBRATE NOW.
Wait for the printer to calibrate.
