Losing connectivity from some servers - Restore connectivity if i ping them
Hello all,
I have 2 Cisco 6500 switches . They are connected together through an etherchannel and are passing all vlans to each other.
Also i have an HPE 5900 switch which is connected to one of these 2 cisco switches with a trunk port. All vlans and routing are on the cisco devices. VLAN on HP are with no svi so everything is routed through Cisco .
So, i have some server behind cisco 5900 and sometimes i lose connectivity from my pc(connected to cisco) . If i send them a ping then suddenly connectivity restored.
Any ideas what is happening ? Thanks a lot

Look at power management settings for the NICs. Sounds like they are being allowed to get powered down to save energy. The switches have nothing to do with your issue.
You might want to check your workstations also. While not a part of this issue, might as well avoid additional issues if you can.

In the server device manager check the network card power management and make sure that it is not set to save power while idle.
