PDFCreator and PrimoPDF both fail to install

Hi

I am unable to reinstall PDFCreator (PrinterHelper stopped responding) or PrimoPDF (error 1798) on Windows 7 32bit PC,
ever since applying the following instructions (posted here):

Before starting, backup your registry (and system). Don't bother trying to use the File --> Server Properties --> Driver --> Remove function; it won't work. Instead, reboot the machine into SAFE mode.

1) Go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64\ --> Delete All the files

2) Go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\W32X86\ --> Delete All the files

3) Optional (really for x86 systems), Go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS --> Delete All the files

4) This step involves the Registry --> Back up the registry and/or the keys you delete should you need them!!

5) Open Regedit

6) Go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers

7) Delete ALL the sub keys

8) Go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows x64\Drivers

9) Delete ALL the sub keys

10) Go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows x64\Print Processors --> Delete ALL the sub keys

11) Close Registry Reboot

12) Go to "Turn Windows features on or off" in the control panel

13) Uncheck "Windows Fax and Scan"

14) Reboot

15) Go to "Turn Windows features on or off" in the control panel

16) Recheck "Windows Fax and Scan"

17) Reboot

At this point you should have a stable print spooler.

All this because Firefox prints blank pages whatever site page I try to print to the user's Xerox printers; the same result was obtained when creating a PDF with PDFCreator. Incidently the print preview was perfectly normal.

Any ideas ?

thanks

try to run this command first with admin privileges
To stop the service
net stop print spooler

To start the service
net start print spooler

Create a Restore point first,
Download and Run CCleaner ( free version ), Scan the Registry and fix the problems, Restart and test again.

Thanks for both your responses: already tried, but no improvement
could you please share the log file
could you please try to add manual entry

1. Install PDFCreator program, even with the errors
2. Add Printer -> Local Printer (uncheck detect P&P) -> specify the PDFCreator port and GS8.71 Driver by hand in c:\program files\pdfcreator\gs8.71
The extension of one or more files in the archive is not in the list of allowed extensions: Applications.evtx

Replaced the period with a hyphen
Logs.zip
can you please share the log file

run the msi file in command prompt with this parameter  PDFCreator.msi /L*V "C:\package.log"
Sorry Qureshi but there is no such file available in the pdfcreator folder

Thanks Qureshi

Tried serveral reinstalaltions of PDF Creator, even latest version 2.51

Ran sfc /scannow several times

Installed .net framework 4.62

no difference

If I reinstall Windows (in place upgrade) I guess it will replace
corrupted DLLs and other but what about the registry, does
it also get reinitialized/cleaned up ?

thanks
