Can you use inline network testing tools with Cisco port security?
If this network tool has a MAC address, will this tool when connected to a Cisco switch configured with port security and a Maximum number of
MACs set to ONE. For example, if I am testing the connectivity of PC to the port of a switch, and I place the switch inline between the two, will port
Security see the MAC of the PC AND the MAC address of the network tool and thereby SHUT the port down (remember that the port is set to have
only one MAC). If this is the case, network testing tools of this nature would appear to be ineffective on networks employing port security on that use a maximum MAC of only one a violation occurs.

I guess I am stuck with a two thousand dollar tool that is virtually useless in testing this type of network.
