Dirty form - conditional formatting

Hello, experts -
hopefully an easy one.
I want to display a message on the form showing whether the form is dirty, as a way to remind users to save.
I tried the 'lost focus' event (if me.dirty then msgbox), but that didn't trap the event.

I thought I could have an unbound text box on the form, and use conditional formatting to make the text visible - but couldn't seem to reference the dirty property.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Why not just turn on Record Selectors on the Form Property sheet?
If the Form is Dirty, the Pencil symbol will be at the Top of the Record Selector bar on the left side.

good comments, both. The first directly answered the question, the second is logical - in fact, I didn't realize this before, but when clicking onto the other subform, the record IS saved. Many thanks.
