We have a constant problem trying to restore NTUSER.DAT and corrupt profiles, whilst we are troubleshooting the root cause, id like a script that automates the restoration of NTuser.dat from a snapshot a few days earlier. I'm trying to make this as user friendly as possible automating many of the tasks, so it would be handy to just enter a username, and from there find where the users profile is located automatically and then restore the file.<br />

I have no idea where to begin, or whether power-shell is the best way to script this, I'm sure someone has dealt with a similar task before?

Automate the restoration of ntuser.dat from a snapshot

Windows PowerShell is a task automation and configuration management framework from Microsoft, consisting of a command-line shell and associated scripting language built on the .NET Framework.
