Generate a qr code with username / password via VBA Outlook Macro?
Hi All,
just a quick question if it is possible...
Is it possible to generate a qr code with username / password via VBA Outlook Macro?
We receive our wifi logins via email with credentials, therefore i would like to create a macro changing this into a qr code.
Cheers in advance

You can use one of the QR code generating sites API calls to get the image. I think you'll need to use an ADODB.Stream object to grab the bytes of the QR code image.
You 'could' write an encoder from scratch but QR codes are complex with multiple formats, sizes, payload capacities and use Reed-Solomon error correction. You'd be better off using an existing library and calling that from VBA such as this one:

aikimark's solution is very elegant. It requires no special references and hence is transferrable more easily as a VBA solution. So much so, we incorporated it into a PowerPoint add-in called G-Tools that the company I work for publishes. The only possible downside is the continued availability of the API (free use, technical compatibility, other...). The beauty is that in the latest incarnation of Office 365 2016 (Oct 2016 release), SVG is supported which makes using scalable vector QR codes really easy.

Don't forget to award the point to the solution you choose (which I can obviously recommend is aikimark's).
Thank you for those kind words, Jamie
