What is difference between Standard PO and STO

Hi All,

I want to know what is difference between Standard PO and STO, Why can't we use STO for ordering the material from Vendor.

A PO is generally used for transactions involving vendors. For stock movement involving two of your own plants, an STO is the appropriate document. These two transaction documents have different valuations so G/Ls are also different. And invoice verification is not applicable for STO transactions.
PO is used for external party (Purchase order)
STO can be used for internal Purpose. eg: Stock transfer from one location to another location in the same company.  (Stock transfer Order)
